Organix Mighty Meals! Ideal for my Mighty Boys!!

I try to cook all our meals from scratch so I can see what we're eating, but there are times when I don't have enough time or the boys are really hungry. So I then have to decide to either compromise on what they're eating or have very grumpy children until the food is ready!

We were contacted to see if the boys would like to try some Organix Mighty Meals, they're ready made meals aimed at children aged 1 to 3, perfect for both my boys! The meals contain only organic produce, with nothing artificial added, and aim to encourage little eaters to try lots of different flavours and textures!

Boo was initially a bit sceptical about trying the meals, he announced they were 'baby food' and didn't want any. After I had warmed up the Beef Stew with Dumplings for Elvis, Boo exclaimed that it smelt yummy and requested his own portion! This was an instant hit with both boys, and the only bits which didn't get eaten were the bits which Elvis flung about in excitement..(he's a very messy eater!).

The Chicken Korma was really popular with Boo and he asked if he can eat it everyday!! Elvis wasn't quite as keen I think due to vegetables he doesn't really like being discovered as they're chunky pieces, mental note, cut up bits before he sees them! He decided he wouldn't eat more than about a half of the portion, but I will definitely be encouraging him to eat this one again!

GOODIES!!

We were also sent some oat bars & the fantastic mini cheese crackers! The mini cheese crackers are subtly flavoured, and don't contain the high levels of salt which the adult version do! Elvis loves these with his dinner!
Both boys love the Carrot & Tomato oat bars, these are an easy way to encourage them to enjoy vegetables and provide an easy fairly clean snack for  when we're out and about! They're definitely on our shopping list!

Huge thanks to Organix for letting us sample their great range! If you fancy trying the range yourself you can shop online or find it lots of supermarkets!

Disclaimer: I was sent a range of products for the purposes of the review, all opinions are my own honest experiences of sampling the product with my children.

Reuniting with Jenny Craig - Session 1

As I've mentioned before, I am restarting Jenny Craig, and this morning was my first session with my new consultant. She instantly put me at ease with her cheerful attitude, and understanding approach. I was worried that when I explained when and why I over eat she may laugh, but instead she was really positive and explained that there are ways to over come this essentially emotional over eating. She was really sympathetic to the fact I'm a Mummy and in reality, children take priority, so sometimes we don't allow ourselves time to eat or exercise.

I felt relieved to have been able to explain candidly when I over eat, and talk about how I'm going to stop it! I also was pleased to be able to say I'd joined the gym and already I'm seeing the benefits - 5 days since joining the gym I've lost 1lb. So, this time I really mean business! Just waiting for the food delivery now which should be here today (I hope!) so I can really reunite with Jenny Craig and making a fresh start!

EDIT: My food arrived! Hooray! And there's even a plastic cup measure so I can make sure I'm having enough salad:

Disclaimer: I am receiving a two week trial free of charge in return for blogging about my own honest experience on the Jenny Craig diet. All opinions are my own.

Red Faced but not humiliated!

I did it, I went and joined the gym and showed how incredibly unfit I am to an actual instructor. Before we even started I explained that not only am I over-weight I am also aware that my fitness has declined dramatically. As soon as I stepped on the treadmill the familiarity of the machine came back to me, and I felt quite comfortable. Admittedly, I was devastated at how little I can do and how red my face went, I'm not going to lie, I think my 85year old neighbour could have done a better job! But this was day one, and it's the start of my journey.

I've deliberately chosen a gym which isn't a loud body pumping one, this is exactly what has put me off many other gyms! It has everything I need and want, without the smell of sweat and the music blaring loudly so it can be heard over the sound of the hundreds of machines pumping away in the background. I've been swimming, and was pleased that I not only achieved the lengths I wanted, but also pushed myself so I completed 4 more than I had aimed for!

Tomorrow I have another gym session planned, and I'm quite looking forward to it, I'm aware it's early days, but for me I think the hardest part has been getting started! I've skated around, trying things out once or twice over the last few months, and this is the first time I've committed to anything! The boys are already benefiting as Mr G & I took both boys for a family swim which we've never managed to do as before, it went so well we're planning on making it a regular Sunday activity! Mr G's words "After 10minutes in the water I felt about 10years younger.." and he is anything but a fan of swimming!
