A review and hint of romance thanks to the Snow Squall Jacket By Lands' End

Lands' End were looking for Bloggers to try out some of their coats, and offered us a coat for Mr G to try out! He was more than happy to help, and was even more delighted when he got to choose which one he wanted! Mr G has seriously long arms, OK so at 6ft 3 I guess his arms should be longer than mine, but to be honest he reminds me some what of Mr Tickle. He always struggles with jumpers and jackets, they always end a little short and he stands pulling at the cuffs like a nervous school boy. He sat for sometime looking at the Lands' End site, and was delighted when he discovered that some of their jackets come in 'tall' - could this be the end to sleeve length struggles?!

Mr G finally selected the Snow Squall Insulated Jacket. It arrived really quickly, and I managed to resist the temptation of sneaking a peek at it until Mr G arrived home from work. He tore the package open, and gave it a good look over, checking first of all where the mp3 player pocket is..yes there is a pocket to store your mp3 in and a handy hole to thread your ear phones through!

So we have been putting the jacket through rigorous testing, firstly sleeve length..are they long enough? Yes they are even when stretching up high! And there is one of those handy Velcro strips to keep the sleeves tight to your wrists for maximum warmth!

The colour is really nice, it is not quite as bright as the picture on the website shows, but it is a great shade of blue which won't show up to many marks if it is worn either near small children or whilst walking in the countryside! The hood doesn't fold away, but is detachable and could easily be stowed in a pocket. The hood seems to be well designed as Mr G isn't constantly trying to hold it in place and the peak means his face is well protected from some of the worst weather!

Overall thoughts? Well, Mr G took me on a romantic walk..in the torrential rain (actually I think it was sleet) and howling wind..and he was all dry, warm and toasty (I was not!). As he dropped down on to one knee and I stood wondering what on earth he was doing - did he not realise he didn't have waterproof trousers on?! He then popped his hand in the jacket pocket and pulled out a ring and he asked me to marry him! Through a mass of my wind swept curls and a combination sleet and tears in my eyes I of course said yes! So if that doesn't make it a quite special jacket I'm not sure what does!
